Cape Almond is a warm, reddish brown colourway inspired by the velvety seeds of the indigenous Wild Cape Almond tree - it combines shades of hot salmon, copper and rusts to create a vibrant colour that pops with intensity.
The trees (Brabejum stellatifolium) are a member of the Protea family and are found in streams and mountain waterways. When these trees flower in spring their perfume is heady and intoxicating; the fruit is set in late Autumn and the furry magenta-reddish brown are a treat. They are poisonous though - the Khoikhoi perfected the process of how to extract the poison and included them in their diet as a type of 'coffee'.
